What is CRHP?
Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) is an experience and a process designed to bring members of a parish together in Christ. All of our commitments, including our commitment to Chirst, need continual renewal if we are to be faithful.

CRHP is:
* A proven and experiental way of enlightening and strengthening faith.
* A specific period for personal growth in prayer, scripture and sharing.
* An experience in personal conversion and Christian community in the environment of our own parish.

What CRHP Does
* Activiates a Christian community with hope of contintuation bringing individuals to a deep adult faith encounter with Christ.
* Communicates fundamental truths of faith.
* Stimulates on-going study, prayer and service groups.
* Reconciles the individual with the Lord through personal repentance and conversion
* Invites Jesus to be at the center of a Spirit-filled community.

How long has CRHP been around?
CRHP was started in 1969. It was recommended by the renewal office of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops as the primary instrument of personal and parish renewal for Catholic parishes in the U.S.A. and in Italy. It has been promoted by Bill Huebsch, author of Dreams and Visions, who sites CRHP as an adult retreat experiencethat brings people to a deep faith encounter with Christ. This parish renewal is in over 1045 parishes in 35 states and in 4 other countries.

What happens on a CRHP weekend?
Come prepared to have fun and renew your heart. The process is centered around reflections by team members with emphasis on small group discussions and activities. Topics covered include: The Father's loving-care for us, Scripture, Eucharist, and what Christian life is all about.

You will be free to share as much or as little as you are comfortable with sharing. You and your wishes will be respected. The sharing dialogue is stimulated in a very liturgical, scriptural and prayerful atmosphere.

Sacrements are an important part of the weekend.

Who may attend?
All are welcome! Christ Renews His Parish is for anyone seeking spiritual renewal. You do not have to be a spiritual person to attend the retreat. In fact many people attend because they are not as spiritual as they would like. Many attend because they feel something is missing from their lives. All participants will be welcomed and receive unconditional acceptance.

The program is designed to help strengthen the Sacred Heart community.  CRHP is an excellent opportunity for those who have stopped attending Mass, or who have lost interest in the church, to reconnect with the Parish Family.

What should I wear?
There is no dress code. Wear what you like. Comfortable, casual clothes make for a more relaxed weekend.

Will I have to get up and talk?
Other than a brief initial introduction you will not have to get up and talk in front of others unless you want to. The weekend is structured around talks given by previous CRHP participants. Group discussions and activities take place after each talk. Weekend participants are usually broken up into tables of 5-6 people. Most in-depth discussions take place amongst your own table. You are free to share as much or as little as you are comfortable with.

Where will I sleep and what will I need to bring?
Sleeping accommodations – We will have cots for each participant.  Each person will be responsible for furnishing a pillow and sleeping bag/ blanket for their own personal use.  Any personal items (soap, shampoo, towels, razors, toothpaste etc.) you should bring with you.

Sleeping at the parish is strongly recommended to enhance your retreat experience, but it is not mandatory.  If you have physical restraints and are not able to sleep on a cot, you may go home to sleep in your own bed and return in the morning before the first meeting.

What about meals?
You will be pampered with great meals while on the weekend. There will be many breaks throughout the weekend with snacks and drinks provided.  If you have special diet requirements please let us know when you register and every attempt will be made to accommodate your needs.

How much will it cost?
There is no charge for attending the weekend! The weekend is put on by previous members of the CRHP program and Sacred Heart Parish in hopes of bettering our community through a renewal in our faith. If you feel inclined, donations will be accepted at the end of the weekend to help continue the program.
